Suzie Park aka Suzie True Screenwriter & Actor

Writing for Film

Suzie Park, otherwise known as Suzie True, is a multilingual screenwriter and actress based in Texas and twice annual resident of Spain.

In her writing, she focuses on broad and adult comedy. She is well-known in writing circles for her unique sense of humor, ability to paint scenes with few words, and skill with dialogue. She is fortunate to be able to watch many international films, sometimes in their original languages, and likes to incorporate some of their style in her scripts though remaining true to American entertainment-focused storytelling.

Acting

Suzie is often cast for her ability to act authoritative and knowledgeable. To that end, she has played roles such as neurologist, instructor, and Justice Ginsberg (in voice only). Her ability to memorize pages of difficult dialogue and deliver them naturally is one of her assets, as is her positive energy on set. Her true personality leans more toward daring and gutsy with a masked vulnerability, though her sharp wit lends itself well to comedy.

The Latest

In Spring of 2010, Suzie was transformed into a horror-film-hideous old woman through the use of prosthetic make-up, strategically placed hairs, and contact lenses. Her co-star Roger Chan was made up to be distinguished and wise-looking. The short film was shot in HD by Director Heather Scobie of ManuForti Films. Roger is chock-full of stories about his famous ancestry which includes Chinese emperors and Shao Lin monks.

To broaden her global acting chops, Suzie spent a weekend in an intense acting workshop in Madrid, Spain, instructed by casting director Andrés Cuenca of Globomedia, which produces many Spanish television series and some films. Conducted entirely in Spanish, it was an exhilarating challenge with a great group of actors. And the instructor's curious nature brought out a number of surprising performances that tested limits.

Recently, Suzie learned to surf on the north coast of Spain in the Basque town of Bakio. She also enjoyed San Sebastian, opening parties and a beach-front gym in Ibiza, and cool bars/cafés/discos in Madrid and Barcelona. Indeed, Spain is her home away from home.
